Frequently Asked Questions
How do I play Nurikabe?
The goal is to fill cells to create a continuous "sea" while leaving numbered islands. Each number tells you how many white cells that island contains. Islands cannot touch diagonally, and the sea cannot contain any 2×2 filled areas.
How do I mark a cell?
Tap once to fill a cell (sea). Tap again to mark it with a dot (confirmed island). Tap a third time to clear it.
What does the hint button do?
The hint button reveals one cell that you can logically deduce from the current state of the puzzle. It won't give away random cells—only ones you could figure out yourself.
How do I unlock more levels?
Complete levels to unlock the next ones. You can also replay any completed level at any time.
Is my progress saved?
Yes! Your progress is automatically saved on your device. If you're working on a puzzle and leave the app, you can continue where you left off.
How do I change the color theme?
Go to Settings from the main menu and tap on any color swatch to change the app's theme.
